Responsibilities
Trauma Program Manager plans, coordinates, implements, and monitors clinical aspects of the trauma program. Provides direction to the nursing staff in the application of the nursing process in the care of trauma patients. Serves on the ER/Trauma Committee with the Trauma Medical Director, Medical Director of ER, Director of Nursing and other department representatives. Maintains the Trauma Policy and Procedures through annual review and revisions as needed. Will contribute to nursing and hospital administration through support of philosophy, objectives, and education efforts. When involved in direct patient care or while supervising the unit has principal responsibility for the total nursing care, assessment, planning implementation, and evaluation of each assigned patient.
Qualifications or Skills Required
Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing. Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. Current ACLS, PALS, & TNCC required within 1 year. Must demonstrate the ability to coordinate and delegate care of patients to other members of the team. Preparation of patient assignments based on patient acuity and staff competency levels. Must have effective oral and written communication skills. Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting may be required.
